Botanical Name: Ocimum sanctum
Family Name: Lamiaceae
Therapeutic Uses: Tulsi is an amazing herb to help with stress. Pretty much any type of stress. If your stress is a long-term “there’s nothing I can do to change my situation” type stress to, “I have a deadline tomorrow and I’m never going to get my work done” kind of stress. It is not a sedative herb so you can drink tulsi tea all day long. I usually do as it’s part of my everyday tea blend (some combination of linden, tulsi, and wood betony). It is an uplifting herb, so it just helps you feel better about life. Find out more about tulsi here.
Cautions: Tulsi is safe and effective for all ages. If you are on medication to lower blood sugar, use caution as tulsi can amplify these effects. Just make sure to monitor your reactions. This will most likely not be any kind of an issue if you are just having a nice cup of tea periodically.
